This list of tallest buildings in Toronto ranks skyscrapers in the Canadian city of Toronto, Ontario by height. The tallest structure in Toronto is the CN Tower, which rises 553 metres (1,815 ft).[1] The CN Tower was the tallest free-standing structure on land from 1975 until 2007, and is now the second. However, it is not generally considered a high-rise building as it does not have successive floors that can be occupied. The tallest habitable building in the city is First Canadian Place, which rises 298 metres (978 ft) tall in Toronto's Financial District and was completed in 1975. It also stands as the tallest building in Canada.[2] Scotia Plaza is the second-tallest building in the city and the country.
The history of skyscrapers in Toronto began in 1894 with the construction of the Beard Building, which is often regarded as the first skyscraper in the city.[3] Toronto went through an early building boom in the late 1920s and early 1930s, during which several high-rise buildings were constructed. The city experienced a second, much larger building boom that lasted from the late 1960s to early 1990s, during which time it saw the construction of 14 skyscrapers, including First Canadian Place. Overall, Toronto is the site of 22 skyscrapers that rise at least 150 metres (492 ft) in height, and has a total of 1,747 high-rises.[4]
Toronto has been the site of several skyscraper construction projects in recent years. The most recently completed skyscraper in the city is the Bay Adelaide Centre West Tower, which was constructed in 2009 and rises 218 metres (715 ft).[5] The tallest building approved for construction in the city is One Bloor East, which would become the second-tallest building and third-tallest structure in Toronto upon completion in 2012. The building is planned to rise 291 metres (953 ft);[6][7] however, plans for this site are currently in flux (see its entry for further details). As of November 2008, there are 376 high-rise buildings under construction, proposed for construction, or approved for construction in the city.[4]

The following is a list of Toronto skyscrapers that stand at least 122 metres (400 ft) tall, ranked by standard height measurement. This includes spires and architectural details but does not include antenna masts. An equal sign (=) following a rank indicates the same height between two or more buildings. The "Year" column indicates the year in which a building was completed. Freestanding observation towers, while not habitable buildings, are included for comparison purposes; however, they are not ranked.

This list ranks Toronto skyscrapers and other structures based on their pinnacle height, which includes radio masts and antennas. As architectural features and spires can be regarded as subjective, some skyscraper enthusiasts prefer this method of measurement. Standard architectural height measurement, which excludes antennas in building height, is included for comparative purposes.
